The Independent: One of the ‘Purest, Pinkest Diamonds’ to Go Under the Hammer

As published by the Independent – The Williamson Pink Star has the potential to set a new per-carat price record for a fancy vivid pink diamond on October 5 in Hong Kong. The 11.15 carat cushion-shaped stone is the second largest internally flawless fancy vivid pink diamond to ever appear at auction and could set a new per carat price record.

The Williamson Pink Star was discovered in the Williamson mine in Tanzania and was cut and polished by Diacore’s master cutters. Diacore is also responsible for cutting The Pink Star diamond, which was sold in 2017 and set the world record price for any gemstone or jewel at auction and was sold for US$71.2 million.
